The more I repaired this beautiful quilt the more I fell in love with it. All the colors in this quilt remind me of spring.
This quilt was originally a "tied" quilt. So I removed all the ties and fixed seams that were coming apart.
I replaced some of the fabric strips that were not repairable, being careful to choose fabrics that wouldn't change the way the quilt looked.
Another unrepairable strip replaced.
Can you see the strip that was replaced here?
And another strip replaced!
I repaired small holes by embroidering little flowers over the holes.
A little yellow flower covers this hole.
With new batting inside, I quilted it by "stitching in the ditch" around all of the blocks, and added a new binding on the edges.
