This fabulous reversible tied quilt was probably made in the 1930's - 1940's! It was in great shape for it's age. It just needed a few patches replaced, a few seams mended, the batting replaced, and it was missing quite a few ties. I removed all the ties and red binding to take all the lumpy batting out and made the following repairs:
Top picture is the torn patch and the bottom picture is after I replaced the torn patch.
The top picture shows that this patch was just missing! After I replaced the missing patch is pictured on the bottom.
Another missing patch in the top picture. The bottoms shows after I replaced it.
The top picture shows that this patch has a tear in it and the seam was coming apart. The bottom picture shows after the repairs were finished.
After all the repairs were made, I sandwiched it back together with new batting, and replaced all the ties--blue ties on the front and red ties on the back just as it originally was. It was finished off with new red binding on the edges of the quilt. Then shipped back to my customer after the photo shoot was finished!
